GDMBR Day 40

Day 40
48 miles
July 24
Big wildlife day!

This morning I saw a badger walking down the road towards me so I stopped and waited for it to figure out what it wanted to do. It kept walking towards me untill it was 30 feet away and then stopped and stared and contemplated me. It did this twice more until it was 20 feet away and then ambled of on his short little legs into the forest.

Later I saw a big Mama grizzly and two cubs, maybe 300 feet away up the road. She step out on to the road looked down the road at me and stopped walking sort of that classic big foot pose. The cubs ran out of the forest and then they all finished crossing the road.

Late in the day I was getting tired and hungry I saw a big cat walking down the road about 100 feet away. I stopped and watched to continue down the road, it looked too big to be a bob cat and it had the perfect mountain lion tail. I'm guessing it was a younger mountain lion. So awesome,  I've never seen one in the wild before!
