Day 6
29 miles June 16
Started the day with a huge down hill from La Manga pass. Then it started raining. It smelled amazing, sweet wet pine, cottonwood, dirt, and rain. It was a nice dirt road following a bucolic river valley, with some washboard. Still raining several hours later, really testing the waterproofness of my bike bags. Got in to the little town of Platoro and got a bungalow type room at the platoro valley lodge. Got clean and dry and had a grilled cheese at the local eatery. Now to sit by the fire and catch up on Internet things.

I'll bet that was THE BEST grilled cheese sandwich!
