Day 28
75 miles July 10
New record! Mostly because there was no where to camp so I had to keep going and keep going until I found a spot without fence next to a bunch of sheep.
The canyon this morning was beautiful and the wind was a head wind for only about a quarter of the day, tail wind the rest of the time.
A mystery animal ran in front of the bike today and I just clipped it. (It survived the encounter). I never saw its face because it pealed out of the bushes head my same direction and then cut in front of me as I tried to scare it away. Its shaggy fur splattered me with mud and it took off running up the hill. It was brown woth mottled orange stripes, short legs, wet, and no tail. No idea what it was, maybe a badger but I'll have to look through a Montana mammals book sometime.
Today was awesome. The scenery, nice down hill, tail wind, consolidated dirt road were all wonderful. Hopefully I'm not too sore tomorrow and these sheep quiet down so I can get some sleep.
