GDMBR Day 29

Day 29
70 miles July 11
1318 total
Another big day. Not sure if I've just got my bike legs or if this is super unsustainable. I'm sore but I've definitely felt worse at the end of the day.

Saw a dead badger on the side of the road, that's definitely what cut in front of me yesterday.
Met a guy from Stuttgart, a guy from Canada, and a guy from DC all solo south bounding. They all stopped to chat with me becuase they each hadn't seen another rider in days. Nice guys.
Made it over a big pass (it wasn't even a Divide crossing either just a big up).

Took an hour or so siesta because it was pretty hot again and then continued down into wise river and had a nice big grilled cheese with some pickles and cottage cheese on the side (apparently that's a thing around here, good protein I suppose). Met a very nice group of veterans out on a fishing trip and they gave me a slice of their pie!

Headed out of town to the National forest to camp but the private property continued to line the sides of the road long after the boundary was marked on the map. Finally found a great camp sheltwred from the wind and with barely any mosquitoes. Amazing. Very tired, the sheep and the sheep dog kept me awake late last night.
