GDMBR Day 30

Day 30
24 miles July 12
Little bit of a shorter day but it was the steepest section of the whole route.

This was the bottom of the legendary fleecer drop. It's hilariously steep to push up. I have to make my own switchback through the brush. It's a good thing there wasn't much dew in the grass or I don't think i would have made it up. Took me almost 2 hours to go half a mile.

If you look through the gap in the trees center right you can see the bottom of the hill.

At least there was a pretty view from the top!

And a beautiful graded down hill on the other side.

With really cool rocks, gotta love a good rock.
I was passed by a group of 10 Kiwis on dirt bikes. They actually ended up knowing some folks I know who live down there. Very friendly people having a great time touring around the US and the Divide.
It was hot and the second up of the day was long and dusty.
At the top I met three riders one from the Netherlands, one from Denmark, and another Kiwi. We had a snack together and a good chat before going our separate ways.

Lots of biting flies out today.

Met another group of south bounding dirt bikers they told me about a road closure that is coming up near Helena.
Off to Bozeman for an awesome day off! Thanks Annie!
